Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains exactly what data we do and don't collect, and how we use it.

No Tool Data Collected

Everything you type into our tools stays in your browser. It never reaches any server.

Transparent Ads

We use Google AdSense. We fully disclose how its cookies work and how to opt out.

No Accounts Required

We never ask for your name, email, or any personal info to use any tool.

1. Who We Are

ProgrammerKit ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at programmerkit.com. We provide a collection of free, browser-based developer utility tools. You may contact us at info@programmerkit.com.

2. Data You Enter into Our Tools

We do not collect, transmit, or store any data you enter into our tools. All processing — whether it's formatting a JSON document, decoding a JWT, generating a hash, or converting an image — occurs entirely within your web browser using local JavaScript APIs. No network request is made with your input, and no input data is ever sent to our servers or any third-party server.

3. Information Automatically Collected

Our hosting provider automatically logs basic, anonymous server-access metadata. This may include:

  • The URL of the page requested
  • Your IP address (anonymized)
  • The date and time of the request
  • Your browser type and operating system (user-agent string)
  • HTTP status code of the response
  • Referring URL (the page you came from)

This data is used exclusively for operating and securing the website, diagnosing technical issues, and reviewing aggregate traffic trends. It is not linked to any personal identity and is not sold or shared.

4. Cookies

ProgrammerKit itself sets one functional cookie: a cookie consent preference stored in your browser's localStorage. This remembers whether you have accepted or declined personalized advertising, so we do not show the consent banner on every visit.

We do not use cookies for session tracking, user profiling, or cross-site tracking of our own. Third-party services (described below) may set their own cookies on your device.

5. Third-Party Advertising — Google AdSense

ProgrammerKit is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google AdSense uses the DoubleClick cookie and similar technologies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests, based on your visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.

Specifically, Google and its partners may:

  • Use cookies and web beacons to collect data about your interactions with our pages.
  • Use that data to serve you targeted, interest-based advertisements.
  • Combine data from this site with data collected on other websites that also use Google advertising services.

You have the following options to control ad personalization:

  • Visit Google Ads Settings to opt out of personalized ads from Google.
  • Visit aboutads.info to opt out via the Digital Advertising Alliance.
  • Use our on-site cookie consent banner to decline personalized ads when you first visit.

For more information about how Google uses data when you use our site, see Google's Privacy & Terms.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data held about you. Since ProgrammerKit does not collect personal data directly, the primary data controller for advertising data is Google. You can exercise your Google-related data rights via Google's Data & Privacy controls.

If you are a resident of California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to opt out of the "sale" of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To opt out of interest-based advertising, use the links in Section 5 above.

7. Children's Privacy

ProgrammerKit is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently received data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at info@programmerkit.com.

8. Data Security

Since we do not store your tool inputs, the risk of a data breach involving your tool data is zero. Our website is served over HTTPS to protect all data in transit between your browser and our servers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of ProgrammerKit after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

10. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact us at info@programmerkit.com.
